I often see my friends say that " I am also interested in photography, some day will show you my work...." when that day comes, I hope to see and share some nice shots and thinking of ideas that I would like to discus with him/her, talk regarding technique and all those stuff..but seldom I my enthusiasm is paid off! and I end up looking at lots of shots for example holiday trips, parties, outings etc with lots of prospective good shots but none at all! So where is the fault??
Yes we do take photos to treasure memories/moments but those mostly belong to candid portraits, group photos etc and here I am talking about serious photography as a passion, hobby and even a intended profession. So whats missing from the candid party, holiday shots to be termed as photography?
The answer lies in the magical world of "Framing"
So What is framing?? ever wondered why the old glass framed photos of your home look beautiful?. No I am not referring to the great old debate of "film vs digital", the key lies in the frame of the photo...yes the black/brown wooden piece of stick around the protective glass, yes that is the key. We human are used to or are more attracted towards frame and our eyes search for a center of interest and the role of the frame is that it isolates the object of interest from the background and restricts our vision within the frame. So next time you take out your camera to take a photo look for frames available around you and in this case "your imagination is the only limitation ".
